The hallmark of the society is its emphasis on education and mentoring – Optometrists learning skills from other optometrists. Continuous training, education and mentorship have been recognized as key indicators that influence the reach, range and quality of health service delivery. We at De-Lens Ophthalmics have not stopped at rendering quality eye and vision care to our clients, but we are also involved in developing human resources as it concerns providing training/mentorship programmes for eye care professionals within and outside our practices. Mentoring is carried out by our in-house certified mentors complemented with the most advanced tools and technologies in our practices.
We are also in partnership with Family of Optometric Mentors (FOM) an arm of Nigerian Optometric Association in organizing weekly Group Mentorship Programmes (GMP). In mentoring we contribute to mentee’s personal and professional growth by sharing knowledge, expertise and clinical experience. We thus, at the earliest moment deal with the challenges a mentee face in clinical practice and career development. Overall, we ensure that our younger ones are equipped for better service delivery today and in the future.
